Big News: Ehsaas Program New Payment Start

The Ehsaas Program, a social safety net initiative launched by the Government of Pakistan in 2018, is set to introduce a new installment of financial assistance totaling 10,500 rupees. This initiative aims to provide much-needed support to the country’s most vulnerable families. The program encompasses various schemes, each with its own eligibility criteria and payment schedule.

BISP Latest Today News:

Recent announcements indicate that the government is gearing up to disburse the new installment. Starting tomorrow, eligible recipients will begin receiving payments directly into their accounts. A key question on many recipients’ minds is whether they can access the payment through ATMs or if they will need to collect it from designated retailer shops.

Ration Program Update:

In addition to the financial assistance, the government is also launching a ration program. Scheduled to commence on March 4, this initiative aims to provide essential food supplies to those in need. The program, spearheaded by the Chief Minister of the caretaker government, has already issued the necessary notification to kickstart the distribution.

Payment Disbursement Details:

Recipients of the 10,500 rupee installment will have the option to receive their payment from both retailer shops and ATMs. Specifically, payments will be available at all Habib Bank Limited (HBL) ATMs and Bank Al Falah branches. While the option to collect from retailer shops will remain, recipients are encouraged to explore the convenience of accessing funds through ATMs.

Reasons for Payment Delay:

Delays in payment disbursement have been attributed to incomplete lists of eligible recipients. The government requires comprehensive lists from all tehsils, including details of retailers involved in payment distribution. Many retailers’ devices are reportedly blocked, leading to a delay in finalizing the lists. Once these issues are resolved, the government will expedite the release of payments.

BISP Registration Check by CNIC:

To check their registration status with the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) using their CNIC, individuals can utilize two methods:

1. SMS Service: Send an SMS with your CNIC number (without dashes or spaces) to 8171. You will receive a response indicating your registration status.

2. Online Portal: Visit the BISP website (http://bisp.gov.pk/) and navigate to the “8171 ویب پورٹل” section. Enter your CNIC number to check your eligibility and registration status.

It’s important to note that the SMS service only works for Pakistani mobile numbers. Additionally, the online portal currently only checks eligibility for the BISP savings scheme. For further inquiries, individuals can contact the BISP Call Center at 8178.
