Sila-e-Fun Program Online Registration New Update 2023
The Pakistani Government has initiated the “Sila-e-Fun” initiative, designed for artists aged 50 and above, proficient in various fields. Addressing concerns highlighted by the Punjab Social Protection Policy, which recognizes financial instability among the elderly and disabled as a significant issue in Punjab.
Aligned with the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) guidelines for the year 2022, the primary objective of social security is to ensure a fundamental income for individuals aged 65 and above.
Pakistan stands as the sole nation within the group lacking a social income plan tailored to support its elderly population. While countries like India, Bangladesh, and neighboring nations embarked on the creation of such schemes as early as the 1990s, Pakistan’s approach towards elderly care necessitates the establishment of a dedicated cash transfer program to address this gap.
